The 240H8CFLM has two bulbs per side. 
The 240HCFLM has one bulb per side.
If the one bulb on the 240 HC8SFLM fails, the light will still function. If the one bulb on the 240 HSFLM fails, one side (much of ¼ ) of the light fails.
Both units are warranted for 5 years.
